Quick Understanding

Present perfect'in temel kullanımlarını (ever/never, just/already/yet) zaten biliyorsun. Bu derste, ileri seviyede İngilizce konuşanların doğal olarak kullandığı, ama Türkçe düşünen öğrencilerin sıklıkla atladığı üç özel kullanımı öğreneceksin: en üstünlük cümlelerinde present perfect kullanmak, "bu ilk kez..." kalıbını kurmak, ve still/just ile henüz çözülmemiş, devam eden bir durumu vurgulamak.

The Structure

Formula

This/It + be + the + superlative + noun + (that) + Özne + have/has + ever + V3
This/It + be + the + first/second/... + time + Özne + have/has + V3
still + haven't/hasn't + V3 → devam eden, beklenen ama gerçekleşmemiş bir durumu vurgular.

Affirmative / Negative / Question

Üstünlük + Present Perfect

the + superlative + noun + Özne + have/has + ever + V3the best trip I have ever taken

Still + Olumsuz

Özne + still + haven't/hasn't + V3I still haven't finished the report.

First Time Kalıbı

This is the first time + Özne + have/has + V3Is this the first time you've driven a car?

Word Order

"ever", have/has ile V3 arasına yerleşir. "still", olumsuz cümlede have/has'ten ÖNCE gelir (Türkçedeki "hâlâ" ile aynı mantık, ama sırası dikkat gerektirir).

  • It's the funniest book I have ever read.Şimdiye kadar okuduğum en komik kitap.
  • I still haven't got a reply.Hâlâ bir cevap alamadım.

How It Works

When do we use it?

  • Üstünlük (superlative) + present perfect, "şimdiye kadarki en..." anlamı için: This is the most difficult exam I've ever taken.
  • "This/It is the first/second/third time..." kalıbında, deneyimin tekrarını vurgulamak için: This is the first time I've eaten Thai food.
  • Still + olumsuz present perfect, beklenen ama henüz gerçekleşmemiş bir durumu vurgulamak için: I still haven't heard back from the company.
  • Just, yakın zamanda olmuş ve hâlâ etkisi/duygusal ağırlığı hissedilen bir haberi vermek için: I've just found out that I got the job!
  • Present perfect, çözülmemiş/devam eden bir gerilim veya durumu vurgulamak için: She still hasn't decided which university to choose.

When DON'T we use it?

Superlative cümlelerinde ilgi cümleciğindeki "have"yi DÜŞÜRME — "the best I ever saw" değil, "the best I have ever seen" denir; have olmadan cümle eksik kalır.
❌ This is the best pizza I ever ate. → ✅ This is the best pizza I have ever eaten.
"This is the first time" kalıbından sonra past simple KULLANMA — bu kalıp her zaman present perfect ister.
❌ This is the first time I went to a concert. → ✅ This is the first time I've been to a concert.

Short Answers

Hızlı kural: "the first time" kalıbından sonra fiil HER ZAMAN present perfect'tir, cümlenin geri kalanı past simple olsa bile bu kalıp değişmez.
"This is the first time she has driven on a motorway." (yanındaki başka cümle past simple olabilir, ama bu kalıp sabittir.)

Superlative + Present Perfect

  • This is the most beautiful sunset I've ever seen.Bu, şimdiye kadar gördüğüm en güzel gün batımı.
  • That was the worst decision I have ever made.Bu, şimdiye kadar verdiğim en kötü karardı.
  • He is the kindest person I have ever met.O, tanıdığım en kibar insan.
  • It's one of the best concerts I've ever been to.Şimdiye kadar gittiğim en iyi konserlerden biri.

"This is the first time..."

  • This is the first time I've cooked for so many guests.Bu ilk kez bu kadar çok misafir için yemek pişiriyorum.
  • Is this the first time you've flown business class?Bu ilk kez business class ile uçuyor musun?
  • It's not the first time he's been late for a meeting.Toplantıya geç kaldığı ilk sefer değil.
  • This is the second time we've had this conversation.Bu konuşmayı yaptığımız ikinci sefer.

Still / Just ile Çözülmemiş Durumlar

  • I still haven't decided what to study at university.Üniversitede ne okuyacağıma hâlâ karar veremedim.
  • They still haven't fixed the broken lift in our building.Binamızdaki bozuk asansörü hâlâ tamir etmediler.
  • I've just realised I left my wallet at home.Cüzdanımı evde bıraktığımı az önce fark ettim.
  • She's just heard some incredible news about her promotion.Terfisiyle ilgili inanılmaz bir haber az önce öğrendi.

Present Perfect Simple (bu konu)

Sonucu, deneyimi ya da "şimdiye kadarki en..." durumunu vurgular: "This is the best film I've ever seen."

Present Perfect Continuous

Süreci, devam eden bir aktiviteyi ya da bir eylemin ne kadar sürdüğünü vurgular: "I've been watching films all weekend."

Common Mistakes

❌ This is the best coffee I ever drank.
✅ This is the best coffee I have ever drunk.
WHY? Superlative + "ever" kalıbında "have" düşürülemez ve fiil V3 formunda olmalıdır (drunk), past simple (drank) değil.
❌ This is the first time I go to a wedding alone.
✅ This is the first time I've gone to a wedding alone.
WHY? "This is the first time" kalıbı her zaman present perfect ister; present simple ya da past simple bu kalıpta kullanılmaz.
❌ I don't still receive an answer from them.
✅ I still haven't received an answer from them.
WHY? "still" olumsuz present perfect'te haven't/hasn't'ten ÖNCE gelir; "don't still" İngilizcede doğal bir sıralama değildir.
❌ That was the funniest joke I've ever hear.
✅ That was the funniest joke I've ever heard.
WHY? Düzensiz fiilin V3 hali kullanılmalıdır: hear → heard, base form (hear) değil.
