Quick Understanding

Present Simple, tekrar eden, alışkanlık haline gelmiş veya her zaman doğru olan şeyleri anlatmak için kullandığımız temel zamandır. "Şu an ne yapıyorum?" sorusuna değil, "Genel olarak ne yaparım?" sorusuna cevap verir.

The Structure

Formula

I / You / We / They + V1
He / She / It + V1-s / -es
Yazım kuralı: watch→watches, go→goes, study→studies, play→plays (sesli harften sonra y değişmez)

Affirmative / Negative / Question

Affirmative

I/You/We/They + V1 He/She/It + V1-s She works here.

Negative

I/You/We/They + don't + V1 He/She/It + doesn't + V1 She doesn't work here.

Question

Do + I/you/we/they + V1? Does + he/she/it + V1? Does she work here?

Word Order

Özne — (sıklık zarfı) — Fiil — Nesne — Yer — Zaman

  • I usually drink coffee in the morning.Sıklık zarfı, ana fiilden ÖNCE gelir.
  • She is often late for class.Be fiilinden SONRA gelir.

How It Works

When do we use it?

  • Alışkanlıklar / rutinler: I brush my teeth twice a day.
  • Genel doğrular / bilimsel gerçekler: Water boils at 100°C.
  • Kalıcı durumlar: He lives in Izmir.
  • Programlar / tarifeler: The train leaves at 9 p.m.
  • Sıklık zarflarıyla: always, usually, often, sometimes, rarely, never

When DON'T we use it?

Tam bu anda olan bir eylem için KULLANMA — onun yerine Present Continuous kullanılır.
❌ I write an email now. → ✅ I am writing an email now.
Geçici bir durum için de KULLANMA: ❌ She stays at a hotel this week (geçici). → ✅ She is staying at a hotel this week.

Short Answers

Yes, I do. / No, I don't. — Yes, she does. / No, she doesn't.
Not: Kısa cevapta ana fiil TEKRAR EDİLMEZ — sadece do/does kullanılır.

Zihninde şu sırayla ilerle:

TÜRKÇEDE NE DEMEK İSTİYORUM? → "Her sabah kahve içerim."

EYLEM NE ZAMAN? → Belirli bir ana bağlı değil, tekrar ediyor.

SÜREKLİLİK VAR MI? → Evet, alışkanlık/rutin/genel gerçek.

FORMÜL → I/you/we/they + V1 · he/she/it + V1-s

Present Simple vs Present Continuous (Karşılaştırma)

  • I play tennis every Sunday. (rutin)Her pazar tenis oynarım.
  • I am playing tennis right now. (şu an)Şu anda tenis oynuyorum.
  • She works in Ankara. (kalıcı)Ankara'da çalışıyor (genel olarak).
  • She is working in Ankara this month. (geçici)Bu ay Ankara'da çalışıyor (geçici proje).
  • He doesn't smoke. (alışkanlık yok)Sigara içmez.

Negative / Question

  • I don't like spicy food.Acılı yemek sevmem.
  • Does he speak German?Almanca konuşuyor mu?
  • They don't live here anymore.Artık burada yaşamıyorlar.
  • Do you drink tea in the morning?Sabahları çay içer misin?
  • She doesn't watch TV during the week.Hafta içi televizyon izlemez.

Rutin, alışkanlık, genel gerçek — şu ana bağlı değil.

Common Mistakes

❌ She work in a bank.
✅ She works in a bank.
WHY? He/she/it ile fiile -s eklenir.
TÜRKÇE MANTIK: Türkçede "çalışıyor" derken şahıs eki (-yor) otomatik gelir; İngilizcede bu iş 3. tekil şahısta -s ekiyle yapılır.
❌ I am agree with you.
✅ I agree with you.
WHY? "Agree" zaten bir ana fiildir, "am" ile birlikte kullanılmaz.
TÜRKÇE MANTIK: "Katılıyorum" Türkçede de tek bir çekimli fiildir — İngilizcede de tek fiil yeter: I agree.
❌ Does she works here?
✅ Does she work here?
WHY? "Does" zaten 3. tekil şahıs işaretini taşıyor; ana fiile TEKRAR -s eklenmez.
❌ He don't like tea.
✅ He doesn't like tea.
WHY? He/she/it ile "doesn't" kullanılır, "don't" değil.
❌ I am living in Balıkesir since 2015. (rutin/kalıcı durum için continuous)
✅ I live in Balıkesir. / I have lived in Balıkesir since 2015.
WHY? Kalıcı bir durum (nerede yaşadığın) present simple ya da present perfect ile anlatılır, "since" ile continuous kullanılmaz.
