Simple Past Tense — Geçmiş Zaman

Geçmişte başlayıp biten eylemler için kullanılır. Türkçe'deki "-di/-dı/-du/-dü" eki gibi: "gittim, gördüm, yedim." İngilizce'de iki tür fiil var: düzenli (regular) ve düzensiz (irregular).

My Holiday in Cappadocia

Last summer, my family went on holiday to Cappadocia. It was an amazing trip! We stayed there for five days.

On the first day, we visited the underground cities. They were incredible — people lived there thousands of years ago! We walked for hours and took lots of photos.

On the second day, we got up very early — at 4:30 in the morning! We went on a hot air balloon ride. I was scared at first, but it was the most beautiful experience of my life. We saw the fairy chimneys from the sky!

We also ate fantastic local food. We had pottery kebab — they cooked it inside a clay pot! It was delicious. We bought some souvenirs from the local market too.

On the last day, I was sad because I didn't want to leave. Cappadocia is a magical place. I wrote postcards to my friends and told them: "You must visit Cappadocia!"
