Gerund (V-ing) ve Infinitive (to + V1)

Bazı fiillerden sonra ikinci fiil -ing alır (gerund), bazılarından sonra to + fiil gelir (infinitive). Bu kural fiile göre değişir; bu yüzden fiilleri grupları ile birlikte öğrenmek en kolay yoldur. Sevmek/nefret etmek bildiren fiiller çoğunlukla -ing, istek/plan bildiren fiiller çoğunlukla to + V1 alır.

COMMON MISTAKE — Edattan sonra -ing

Edatlardan (about, of, at, in, without...) sonra fiil gelirse her zaman -ing alır:

Mert: "I enjoy watching documentaries. I want to learn about nature, history and space. I also like reading reviews before I decide to watch something — I hate wasting time on bad films!"
