Relative Clauses — who, which, that, where

Relative clauses bir ismi tanımlayan, ona bilgi ekleyen yan cümleciklerdir. Türkçe'deki "-an/-en" eki veya "ki" bağlacı gibi çalışır. "The man who lives next door" = "Yan komşu adam."

Young Heroes of the Environment

Around the world, young people who care about the planet are making a real difference. Here are two young people making a big difference.

Boyan Slat (Netherlands): Boyan is the engineer who invented a system to clean the ocean. He was only 18 when he created The Ocean Cleanup — a project which uses ocean currents to collect plastic. The system, which is now working in the Pacific Ocean, has already removed hundreds of tonnes of plastic waste.

Greta Thunberg (Sweden): Greta is the teenager who started a global movement. In August 2018, she began sitting outside the Swedish parliament with a sign — first every school day, then every Friday. It was a protest that made her famous worldwide. She gives speeches which make world leaders listen. At the World Economic Forum in 2019, her message was simple but powerful: "Our house is on fire."

These young people show that even a single person who has a clear vision can change the world. What action can YOU take to protect our planet? Even small things — like recycling, using less plastic, or choosing renewable energy — can make a difference.
